My clergy colleague Bob Kaylor has shared his “Blueprint for Discipleship” model with me in the past, and I keep returning to it in conversations regarding effective ways to think about the processes involved in intentional discipleship. Bob serves as Senior Pastor at Tri-Lakes UMC, which is just south of the Denver metro area.
Intentionality has always been a hallmark of discipleship in the life and writings of John Wesley. In many of our Methodist churches, intentional approaches are set aside in favor of individuals finding their own way into study groups. I appreciate the structure of Bob’s approach, and you can read more about it on his blog, bobkaylor.com (that link takes you straight to the page discussing the model Tri-Lakes developed).
